About this video
Think you’re in Rome? Think again! Join TUI Travel Expert, Wissem Waili, on a journey through Tunisia – ticking off the history, culture, food and drink. Plus, some unmissable spots…
Tunisia is in northernmost Africa on the Mediterranean coast – just below Italy. First up, we’re in Tunis. You can visit the capital on a daytrip from Sousse, Skanes or Hammamet. You can’t miss the Bardo Museum – it’s home to one of the largest collections of Roman mosaics in the world. In fact, Tunisia has nine UNESCO World Heritage sites. And, there are 16 more on the waiting list.
The Archaeological site of Carthage is next on our explorer’s list. Built around 800 BCE, this ancient city was once a buzzing trading hub. We’re then heading to Sidi Bou Said AKA The Santorini of Tunisia – one of the most beautiful villages in the world – before the popular resort of Sousse. A fortress, the El Jem Amphitheatre and the Great Mosque of Kairouan cover the historic sightseeing here. Plus, thanks to its sandy beaches and All Inclusive hotels, it’s the perfect place for a beach holiday. Tempted by Tunisia? In this travel guide, Wissem also gives you some handy Tunisia travel tips, covering currency, travel requirements, weather and flying to Tunisia with TUI Airways.
