Once again, I found myself trapped in one of these nightmares. Horrific beings decayed before my eyes, their noses rotted away to reveal gaping holes. Their eyes stared into my soul as if it were my fault. New creatures emerged from holes that formed in the decaying noses lying on the ground. My own nose trembled, signaling the onset of a ghastly transformation. My scream was swallowed by the void, leaving me silent and tormented by the echoes of impending doom. © 2024 Jan Olav Baustad.
