About this video

At 1849 hours, Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of south San Vicente Boulevard for a reported structure fire. Light Force 61 was first on scene and reported a 13 story residential high rise building under construction (with scaffolding) with heavy smoke and fire showing from the charlie side (rear) of the building. Two additional task forces were requested and a rapid intervention crew was established. Firefighters went into an offensive posture to attack the fire with Engine 58 taking fire attack. Knockdown was achieved at 1915 hours as it turned out to be an outside fire (due to a roofing operation) that was exposing the building and did have some extension into a second floor unit. One patient was treated at the scene. Building and Safety was notified. The cause is under investigation.
