Pre-A Level Picture Sound Sort with Jan Richardson 📚

These children are beginning Kinders in a Title I school, know fewer than 5 letter names, can recognize their names but not write them correctly or identify the letters in them. The had NEVER done this before so it took heavy scaffolding but you can see midway they caught on. After learning the routine which would allow less teacher talk, this could be cut to 3-4 minutes and work for a PreK small group lesson or for the word work section in a Pre-A or Level A guided reading lesson.
