Prashant Kishor Explains How NRC is a Part of the National Population Register 📝

In an interaction with ANI, political strategist Prashant Kishor said that National Register of Citizens (NRC) is a subset of National Population Register (NPR). He said, “Nobody needs to prove link between NPR and NRC, documents speak for themselves and they state that NPR is the first step of NRC. This debate is linked to Citizenship Amendment Bill of 2003 during which, it was defined that after NPR, if government wishes, they can do NRC. NRC is a subset of NPR. And the implementation is up to the government and it is a different thing.”
