Post-Quantum Cryptography Explained: Why It Matters for Your Digital Security 🔐

You might not know it, but you are using cryptography many times, every day. Surprised? Just think of all the digital data you are sending around, from online banking to tax data or business emails. All this data is cryptographically encrypted. All your WhatsApp messages are encrypted. Because no one but your buddy can read them. Anna-Lena Horlemann explains how this actually works. She is Assistant Professor for Mathematics and Information Technology at the University of St.Gallen (HSG).

Kryptographie? Was soll das sein? Sie wissen es vielleicht nicht, aber wir nutzen diese komplexe Sicherheitsverschlüsselung viele Male täglich. Denken Sie nur an all die digitalen Daten, die Sie verschicken, vom Online-Banking über Steuerdaten bis hin zu geschäftlichen E-Mails. All diese Daten sind kryptographisch verschlüsselt. Alle WhatsApp-Nachrichten sind jetzt verschlüsselt, so dass niemand ausser Ihren Freunden sie lesen kann. Mathematik-Expertin Anna-Lena Horlemann erklärt, was es mit Kryptographie auf sich hat. Sie ist Assistenzprofessorin für Mathematik und Informatik an der Universität St.Gallen (HSG).
