The porcupine puffer (Diodon holocanthus) is a slow-moving fish that belongs to the Diodontidae family, which has lower levels of tetrodotoxin compared to other pufferfish from the Tetraodontidae family. When it feels threatened, it inflates its body by taking in seawater, causing its sharp spines to stick out for protection. However, this behavior of turning into a spiky ball can sometimes attract curious sea lions, which may attack.
