Pixel 9a, 9, Pro & XL: Which Google Phone Is Best? 📱

Reviewing Google's Pixel 9a vs the Pixel 9, Pro and XL models, to see which of these AI-stuffed smartphones is best for you in 2025. I've been testing the camera tech, gaming abilities, battery life and overall experience of the Pixel 9a and its flagship siblings. So here's my comparison to see if the Pixel 9 Pro XL is worth that cash, or whether you should save some money.

That Pixel 9a delivers a different camera setup to the other 9 series blowers, with a unique primary and ultra-wide sensor. Only the Pro models offer a telephoto shooter too, for getting closer to your subject - especially good for portrait photos. Likewise, the Pixel 9 Pro and XL offer more video features, including the online AI-powered Boost tool.

All four are powered by the same Google Tensor G4 chipset, but the more you spend, the more memory you'll get. Gaming on the Pixel 9a is sadly a juddery affair if you opt for Wuthering Waves. Demanding titles are best left to the Pixel 9 Pro & XL with their 16GB RAM.

Still, battery life is excellent on all four Google mobiles. You'll easily get a full day of action from a single charge, even with some gaming and camera play thrown in. Of course, the more expensive models do charge faster than that Pixel 9a.
