Ferdinand Marcos Jr., son and namesake of the late overthrown dictator, has been sworn in as the 17th president of the Philippines. The incoming president takes office facing a slate of urgent issues, including rising consumer and energy prices, as well as needing to balance relations between competing superpowers the US and China.
