Peskov Warns Donetsk Fall: Ukraine War Near End 🚩

The Kremlin said on Sunday that fighting in eastern Ukraine is now concentrated within “just a few kilometres,” claiming that Russian forces are close to completing control of most of the Donetsk region. Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov stated that only 17–18% of the territory remains to be “liberated,” adding that the “momentum is clear.” He said the conflict could end “overnight” if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered a withdrawal from contested areas. Moscow also said talks on Ukraine remain frozen, while suggesting that battlefield developments are shaping diplomatic conditions. In separate remarks, Russia warned of its energy leverage over Europe and said NATO is undergoing structural transformation amid shifting global security dynamics.
