A common mistake I see from amateur golfers is getting the club too shallow and too far behind them in the backswing. This gives the club no choice but to swing steep and over the top on the downswing ❌

Instead, we want to keep the clubhead more out in front of us during the backswing, while still building some depth. This creates more room for the club to shallow on the downswing ✅

Of course, there are plenty of golfers who play well from the first position I demonstrate at the top. If that’s you, keep it up 🤙 This drill is only for the golfers looking to improve the backswing position because it’s giving them issues!
