In fact, ancient Indian texts describe recipes of dal that were served to guests
at celebratory meals. While little is known about the exact origin of this lentil preparation,
it is believed that the panchmel dal first became popular in the royal house of Mewar
As the name suggested its тАУ Tur Dal, Chana Dal, Moong Dal, Masoor Dal, and Urad Dal make a delicious and traditional Dal Panchmel.

50 gms Chana Dal
50 gms Moong Dal
50 gms Masoor Dal
50 gms Urad Dal Peeled

Add to Dal While Pressure Cooking

Bayleaf 2 No.
Haldi 1/2 Tbsp
Salt As Required
Water

1st Tadka

Ghee 3 Tbsp (1Tbs For Final Tempering)
7-8 Cloves Garlic ( Finely Chopped )
1 Big Onion ( Finely Chopped )
1 Inch Ginger ( Finely Chopped )
2-3 green chilies ( Finely Chopped )
Karhi Patta (Optional)
Salt As Required
Red Chilly powder 1 Tbs
Corriander Powder 1 Tbs
Cumin Powder 1 Tbs
2 medium tomato ( Finely Chopped )
Amchoor Powder 1/2 Tbs
Garam Masala 1/2 Tbs

Final Tempering
==================

Whole Red Chilly 2 Nos.
Jeera 1 Tbsp
Hing 1/2 tbsp

Finely chopped coriander for garnish
