Pakistan: TLP Pro-Palestine Protest Turns Violent 🚧

Violent clashes in Pakistan killed at least two people and injured 50 others after the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) party-led protesters clashed with police. The TLP protesters were carrying out a pro-Palestinian march towards the capital, Islamabad, to stage protests in front of the US Embassy. The police blocked the protesters, baton-charged them and fired tear gas to disperse crowds. Authorities have shut schools, colleges and universities in Lahore. The Shehbaz Sharif-led government has turned Islamabad into a fortress, sealing roads to the capital by placing shipping containers. Pakistan has suspended mobile and internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The US Embassy in Pakistan has issued a security alert for its citizens.
