Pakistan-Backed Terror Groups Exploit Afghan Soil, India Urges UNSC Action | World News

India has flagged the presence of Pakistan-backed terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil at the United Nations. In a strong statement at the UN Security Council, New Delhi urged the international community to ensure Afghanistan does not become a safe haven for terror activities.

India named groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Al Qaeda, and ISIL as exploiting Afghan territory. The envoy emphasized that coordinated global efforts are needed to eliminate these safe havens and prevent future attacks.

While supporting partial sanctions waivers on the Taliban for humanitarian aid, India stressed the urgent need to address poverty, hunger, and disease affecting Afghan civilians. New Delhi reaffirmed its commitment to Afghanistan’s stability, development, and peace. It called for engagement with all stakeholders to ensure a secure and prosperous Afghanistan.
