OpenAI reported 400 million weekly active users for ChatGPT, up from 300 million in December 2024. The company did not disclose the number of paid subscribers for ChatGPT Plus or Pro. The company now has 2 million paying business users, doubling since September 2024, while developer API traffic has doubled in six months. The company shared these figures shortly after China's DeepSeek launched competing AI models and an assistant app.
