At the heart of the story are two brothers, Sean (Miles Muir) and Michael (Karson Kern), who live in a quiet coastal town with their sheriff father. Grieving the loss of their mother and struggling with family tensions, he throws himself into the project. Michael, though skeptical at first, agrees to help in support of his brother.

Meanwhile, their father investigates strange local events: a farmer disappears, his wife claims he was dragged into the cornfield by something covered in slime. Dead livestock with unusual injuries are found, and the military suddenly takes over a nearby camp. All signs point to something extraterrestrial.

The boys launch their balloon, but what it captures on video leads to an ominous discovery. Their experiment becomes the key to an alien encounter threatening the whole town. As the danger grows, they must warn their father and uncover the truth.
