Oberhofer, the Brooklyn-based band, was formed after frontman Brad Oberhofer moved to Brooklyn from his hometown of Tacoma, Washington, to attend New York University. In 2012, Glassnote Records released the 5-piece band's debut album, Time Capsules II, which was produced by the legendary Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Rolling Stones.) "Earplugs" is featured on the 2013 follow-up EP, NOTALGIA. At SXSW 2014, Oberhofer performed the song during an intimate set at the Do512 Lounge presented by Bud Light.
