NVIDIA's Christopher Parisien at UWaterloo 📚

Christopher Parisien, Senior Manager of Applied Research at NVIDIA, returned to the University of Waterloo to deliver a NVIDIA Lecture hosted by Math Innovation!

A UW grad (BMath '06) with a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Toronto, Christopher has played a key role in shaping AI. From building the first generation of mainstream chatbots to developing systems for understanding medical records and serving as CTO at NexJ Health, his contributions to AI are extensive. Now at NVIDIA, he focuses on bringing trustworthy language models to large enterprises.

His lecture introduced students to NeMo Guardrails, exploring its key functionalities and its role in responsible AI development. Afterward, students dove into hands-on work with the NeMo module during an interactive bootcamp.
