The interview is from 2014 (Modern Talking's 30th jubilee).
Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen met for the first time in 1983.
It was the recording label HANSA, who sent Bernd Weidung (artist name: Thomas Anders) to the songwriter Dieter Bohlen to produce a German cover song of "Pick Up The Phone" (F.R David) with him: so their first collaboration was "Was macht das schon". They produced 6 singles together (10 German songs and one in English) before Dieter Bohlen had an idea to an English song "My Love Is Gone". After having holidays in Mallorca, Spain, and hearing the song "Precious Little Diamonds" from Fox The Fox, he changed and revised the song to "You're My Heart, You're My Soul". To this point Dieter and Luis Rodriguez developed a special sound, what they applied to this new song. It was released in October 1984 under the name "Modern Talking". It needed two month to reach the German charts. They were invited to the musical show "Formel Eins". After that their success exploded, they were unstoppable.

Thomas Anders played his first minitour without Dieter Bohlen in the United States - BEFORE - Modern Talking split up in June 2003. They get an invitation about a half year before this tour, but Dieter Bohlen didn't want to go, because he had the German Idol shows (DSDS), so he didn't have time for a tour at that time (he toured with the winners of the German Idol show). After two times of refusing from Dieter, Thomas decided to go alone with the Modern Talking band. After that Dieter Bohlen get angry, and decided to end up with Modern Talking on their first concert of the Universe Tour in Germany. (Rostock, 07.06.2003)
