Nitish Kumar Likely to Resign Before NDA Govt Oath on Nov 20

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to submit his resignation to the Governor today, a procedural step ahead of the formation of the next NDA government. The oath-taking ceremony is planned for November 20 at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, which has been closed to the public until then. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the event.

Reports indicate that Cabinet seat-sharing has been settled: BJP 14 berths, JD(U) 13, LJP(RV) 3, HAMS and RLM 1 each, forming a 32-member Cabinet. Nitish Kumar is set to return as Chief Minister, with BJP retaining two Deputy Chief Ministers and the Assembly Speaker post. Discussions also include bringing in new upper-caste leaders to replace Vijay Kumar Sinha, while Samrat Choudhary is likely to remain Deputy.
