Nintendo Cuts Switch Sales Forecast Amid Declining Demand for Aging Console 🎮

Nintendo has reduced its fiscal year Switch sales forecast to 12.5 million units, down from 13.5 million, as demand for the seven-year-old console wanes. Revenue expectations were also trimmed. Nintendo's Q2 revenue exceeded expectations, but net profit fell sharply, missing forecasts and showing a significant year-over-year decline. Last year’s sales boost from The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Legend of Zelda has faded, with no comparable release to invigorate current sales. To counter declining sales, Nintendo is expanding its licensing strategy, including a new Super Mario movie planned for release in 2026.
