NIH Clinical Center Legacy Videos in Transfusion Medicine

In 1997 the NIH Clinical Center produced this video as educational material for patients and blood donor volunteers who considered undergoing hematopoietic progenitor cell collection by peripheral blood apheresis. Over time, little has changed in the basic information on this procedure, thus this videos documents the consistency and the safety of this well established high-end transfusion medicine procedure. Hematopoietic progenitor cell collections by peripheral blood apheresis enable transplantations that often prove life-saving.
