Already 1-0 up and well in control against the injury-hit visitors, Newcastle wasted no time in doubling their advantage to all but guarantee the points. Athletic drop down to 27th in the overall table, as Newcastle make it three European victories in a row to climb up to sixth, on a largely successful night in black and white.
