About this video
Shock, or hypoperfusion, is a life-threatening condition where the bodyβs tissues and organs do not receive adequate oxygen and nutrients due to poor blood flow. It can be classified into four main types: hypovolemic shock, caused by significant blood or fluid loss; cardiogenic shock, resulting from the heart's inability to pump effectively; distributive shock, where blood vessels lose their tone, leading to poor distribution of blood (e.g., septic, anaphylactic, and neurogenic shock); and obstructive shock, caused by a physical obstruction to blood flow, such as a pulmonary embolism or cardiac tamponade.
