NASA Discovers Earth's Sister Planet Near Our Solar System 🌍

Bennu, a near-Earth asteroid roughly 500 meters wide, has captured global attention—not just because it could one day pose a threat to Earth, but because it might help explain how life began here. In 2020, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission collected samples from Bennu’s surface and brought them back to Earth in 2023. What scientists found was extraordinary.

Inside those dark, carbon-rich rocks were amino acids—the fundamental building blocks of life. These are the same molecules that form proteins in all living organisms on Earth. Their presence on Bennu suggests that the essential ingredients for life didn’t necessarily originate on Earth. Instead, they might have been delivered by asteroids and comets that bombarded the early Earth billions of years ago.

This discovery supports a theory called panspermia—the idea that life, or the key ingredients for life, may have come from space. Bennu, formed over 4.5 billion years ago, is like a cosmic time capsule, preserving organic materials from the dawn of the solar system.

In short, Bennu isn’t just a rock floating in space—it’s a messenger from the past, hinting that the seeds of life on Earth might have come from the stars.
