About this video
This is a recent no frills all Boss pedal board that I put together.
Signal Chain -
OC-5 Octave
FZ-5 Fuzz
DS-2 Turbo Distortion
OD-3 Overdrive
PH-2 Phaser
DD-8 Digital Delay
RV-6 Reverb
The Boss OD-3 is one of my favourite overdrive pedals to use when going into a clean amp like the Fender Twin Reverb, especially with humbucker pickups on this Les Paul. I'll often use the OD-3 as an always on pedal to shape the sound of other distortion, fuzz and boost pedals.
I've set the RV-6 Reverb to a large room setting to add some depth and space to the sound when I want it.
I'm using the DS-2 as my high gain distortion pedal for some classic cutting and bright distortion sounds.
The OC-5 Octave has plenty of volume so it's boosting the OD-3 into a more saturated overdrive at the same time as adding the octave notes above and below the notes that I'm playing. I use this a lot for big riffs.
I like to use the PH-2 Phaser together with the OC-5 for a guitar synth sort of sound.
The DD-8 Digital Delay is on tape mode and set to play a fast single repeat to get a retro slap back sound. The FS-7 footswitch can be used to get swirly self oscillating effects on switch A. Switch B can be used for tap tempo.
The FZ-5 is set on the Octavia setting and can sound pretty wild and crazy even without cranking the fuzz control.
