Home Lab Success: Landed My First Cybersecurity Job 🔐

Home labs are one of the best forms of demonstrating your abilities and experience. It's how I got my first purely technical job in the IT space back in 2018.

While theoretical certifications are nice to have and help in HR filters - they are a good measure of terms and literacy, and how things "fit together" at a procedural or process level. Building out something of your own often goes a lot longer to impress and convey to hiring managers and decision makers. Truth is the majority of students will get certs over home labs. It's harder to do, takes more effort, and that's exactly why it's recognized so much more.
