About this video
A post of Facebook got us in an immediately Frenzy.
Mumbai's Biggest Thali ! Named after the Great Wrestler and Actor - Mr. Daara Singh.
The Thali offers an elaborate spread of close to 36 dishes.... Yes, you heard it right... 36 dishes.
Mini Punjab Powai being the closest one, We decided to try this humongous spread.
First things first. You should make a prior reservation in advance before going. You can choose between Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Thali. We made a reservation for 09pm.
The restaurant first offered us a welcome Pani Puri Starter. Then came the Grand Dara Singh Thali. The thali comprised of Soup, Chaas, Lassi, Jaljeera, different variety of subzi like sarson ka saag, paneer subzi, rajma, gatte ka subzi. It also comprised of some starters, dal khichdi, Pulao and the list is endless.... Different variety of roti were also there.
The sweet dishes were also fantastic like Jalebi , Rabdi, Gulab Jamun, Kalakand. Too yummy. Everything placed in one thali you tend to get a little confused, where to begin from. But who cares when you are hungry and massive quantities of food is placed in front of you.
Priced approximately Rs. 1350, the Thali is just only worth the hype, as I did not feel to try it once again.
Food was a bit cold when served, nothing was served out of the box, just some traditional regular North Indian Dishes served on a Massive Plate, with small quantities of Many variety of Subzi.
The best part is the Thali can be shared by 4 to 5 people unlike other placed where they do not allow to share Thali. It is ideal to try this with 4 people as with just two people there is some wastage of food.
All in All it is an excellent thing in Mumbai to try out once in a while. Go for it give it a Try. I wont be going out again as
