Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman came up with the plot all the way back in 1994, while they were working on Pulp Fiction. Thurman’s on-set trainer was Yuen Wo-ping, the same trainer used for The Matrix films and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
