It has been a few years since my last MMO Tier List, but this time we’re doing things differently.
This video is not an objective ranking, it’s 100% based on my personal taste and how I feel about each MMO in 2025.
Over the years I’ve tried community-voted tier lists, “scientific” scoring systems and other experiments, but no matter what you do, those formats always end up with the most popular MMOs sitting at the top, even if they’re full of problems. It becomes predictable, boring, and honestly doesn’t reflect how I actually feel about the games.
So this year’s MMO Tier List brings the emotion, the bias, and the honesty back into the ranking.
I think most of you would rather see my genuine opinion than a sterile AI-generated scorecard… although I might still try that at the end of the video just for fun.

🎮 Tier Definitions
To keep things simple, here’s how I’m rating MMOs in 2025:
S Tier: Overwhelmingly Positive
A Tier: Very Positive
B Tier: Positive
C Tier: Mixed
D Tier: Negative
F Tier: Overwhelmingly Negative
Not Played / Before My Time: MMOs I missed or don’t remember enough to judge
Upcoming MMOs: A preview of games that will likely appear in next year’s list

💬 My MMO Preferences (So You Understand My Bias)
Before we jump in, here’s the criteria that shape how I personally rate MMOs:
- I love permanent progression and hate when progress feels reset after taking a break
- I enjoy a mix of PvE and PvP
- I’m a sucker for collection, completionism, and long-term goals
- I dislike linear MSQs and story-driven “chosen one” narratives
- I prefer smaller, world-building stories over cutscene-heavy main plots
- I enjoy both tab target and action combat, as long as it feels fluid
- I prefer fantasy MMOs over sci-fi
- I prefer third-person games where I can see my character
- I dislike too many daily chores
- I love Sandpark / curated sandbox design — a balance between structure and player freedom
If your tastes line up with mine, you’ll probably agree with a lot of this list.
If not? Well… at least you’ll understand where each rating comes from.
