Virginia Gonzales is accused of severely abusing her children, including a seven-year-old found starved and malnourished in a closet, and faces major questions about the disappearance of her two-year-old daughter, Ava, who has been missing since 2017. Authorities discovered six other children in the apartment, all allegedly neglected. Gonzales rejected a 40-year plea deal and is scheduled to face trial in January.
