Microsoft Unveils Majorana 1: A Revolutionary Quantum Computing Chip ⚛️

There’s been a major breakthrough in quantum computing!! Microsoft’s research has led to the creation of Majorana 1 - a chip that can perform incredibly complex calculations that would be impossible for even the largest classical computers… and I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to see in person!!

This chip operates in a new topological state of matter, using Majorana particles instead of electrons, allowing it to store up to a million qubits. To achieve this, the chip is housed in an incredibly advanced freezer that can cool it down to just 50 millikelvin, 10 times colder than interstellar space.
