Met Office Afternoon Forecast 08/09/24 - Gloomy day with rain

A band of persistent rain from the southwest up to the north of England this afternoon, with much of this area gloomy under the cloud. To the east, some showers with the possibility of thunderstorms amidst warmer temperatures during sunny spells. In Northern Ireland and Scotland, much drier, but cooler and cloudier than recent days. Later this evening, rain will push eastwards over southern Scotland and central England.
