Movie Plot:
Mausam is a poignant love story that follows Dr. Amarnath Gill, who falls in love with Chanda, the daughter of a local healer, while preparing for his medical exams in Darjeeling. He promises to return but never does.

Twenty-five years later, Amarnath returns as a wealthy man, searching for Chanda and her father. He learns that Chanda was married to an old man, gave birth to a daughter, became insane, and died. Her daughter, Kajli, closely resembles her mother but has ended up in a brothel after being molested by her uncle.

Feeling guilty, Amarnath buys Kajli from the brothel and tries to transform her into a refined woman. However, Kajli, unaware of Amarnath’s past connection to her mother, begins to fall in love with him. When she learns the truth, she is devastated.

The film explores themes of love, regret, redemption, and fate, and was loosely based on A.J. Cronin’s novel "The Judas Tree". It won multiple accolades, including the Silver Lotus Award at the National Film Festival and was remade in Tamil as Vasandhathil Or Naal.
