A few years ago I created a set of presentations for a group of high school students on the fundamentals of classical cryptology. I decided to turn them into videos in the event someone else might find them useful.

This video is the third installment that walks through the basics of substitution ciphers and how they work. In today's video, we will cover how to use cryptanalysis to break substitution ciphers, with a focus on brute force method and frequency analysis.
