"How to estimate software development time” is a perennial question that faces us all at some point in our career. How to manage software projects is a complex problem, there is a lot to understand, and there is a lot of misunderstanding about what is sensible and possible in software estimation. So in this episode, Dave Farley explores the ideas of estimating software, or not: the #NoEstimates movement say don’t estimate at all, and many successful teams work that way.

Software project management would naturally like to know how long something will take, and it is a reasonable question, but one that is very difficult to answer with any degree of accuracy.
