This video is an overview of significant figures. After the rules are discussed there are a few examples for you to try on your own. Precision and accuracy are also covered.
Rule #1: Non-zero numerals always count as significant figures: (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)
Rule #2: Captive zeroes (AKA sandwiched zeros) are between non-zero digits and always count as significant figures:
Rule #3: Trailing zeros (those at the end of a number) are significant only if you see a decimal point. You either count all the trailing zeros or none. (The decimal zeros make the number more precise)
