Master CrypTool 2: Essential Tips for Handling Data Types in Classic & Modern Ciphers 🔐

#cryptology, #cryptography, #cryptanalysis In this video, we show tips and tricks for working with different data types in CrypTool 2. We recently learned that some users have problems when dealing with different types of data, thus, we thought an introduction of theses would be helpful.

In this video, you will see how to work with
- text (for classical ciphers)
- binary data (for modern ciphers and cryptographic hash functions)
- (big) numbers (for e.g. RSA, prime numbers, and factorization)
- booleans

We show how to format texts and how to convert data for classic and modern ciphers. Also, we have a look at (big) numbers. We generate and test prime numbers and we factorize big numbers using the quadratic sieve. Finally, we have a look at boolean logic and at gate components in CrypTool 2.
