If you don't know, this is Gaming's Most Recognisable mascot... Sonic. I mean Mario.

And Mario is not the family friendly icon you thought he was these past 40 years. He hid something from us. And I'm here to expose it.

You see, Bowser is a bad dude. No doubt. So bad, in fact, that he used his dark magic to turn all the Mushroom Kingdom's toads into bricks!

As confirmed by the official game manual.

And Mario, knowing this, proceeds to break the all bricks for one reason!

Why? So that he can eat the souls of the now deceased toads to give him power ups in an attempt to get his plunger closer to their princess who flees to a different castle every time he comes near.

Not only that but he gloats about it by making it the game's cover art!
