Gear 6 is Luffy’s true awakening. And did you know we may have already seen the results of this power in the series.. You see between episodes 207-219, we arrive at the Long Ring Long Land arc.. This arc showcase’s an extraordinary island, unlike anywhere else in the series.. Many believe this was the result of Joy Boy’s awakening 800 years ago.. An awakening he gained in his final war against Imu sama.. This is backed up by the events in punk hazard, where we see that awakenings change the island around the user forever, by changing the landscape to match the element of the devil fruit that has awakened.. But not only does the Nika awakening affect the land, tree and animals in the area, but it is also believe to effect the people on the island, some have speculated that when Luffy activates Gear 6 in his fight vs Blackbeard, He will also grant his crewmates rubber abilities in the process. Similar to that of Naruto sharing his chakra with his allies.. The community strongly believe this form will be achieved upon Luffy seeing Blackbeard kill Shanks.. The emotional break from seeing yet another family member die before his eyes, will cause him to go far beyond his peak.. He will become a new kinda monster.. One that may be the cause of fishman island being destroyed, like Madam Shyarly predicted.
