About this video
Hello YouTube it's Matt from Forensics with Matt, and in today's video, I will be sharing a project I did on steganography. This project dealt with hiding text in pictures as a proof of concept. It used Least-Significant Bit steganography where the seventh bit is XORed with the data and the data is hidden in the eighth bit.
The program itself is a simple user interface. It has buttons for bringing in an image, a text field that lets the user enter the text they want to hide, and buttons for embedding and extracting data. This is VERY simple. It is also fast. It only takes a couple of seconds to process images and either put in or pull out text from the images.
This program is also Unicode, meaning that the program is able to read text of ALL languages. This means that you will be able to hide text from Latin scripts (including diacritics) in addition to languages like Chinese, Thai, Greek, Telugu, Arabic, and many other languages that you may have a keyboard for. That is really awesome, right? I think it is amazing.
Later this week, you will be able to see a writeup for this video on my blog to see more of my written opinions. You can find it here ---- https://matthewplascencia.substack.com/publish/home
I hope you enjoy this video. If you do, please don't hesitate to like, comment share, and subscribe to my channel. Do this and you can see more content like this and also lots about forensics and cybersecurity.
