London Stock Exchange to Begin Accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum ETN Applications in Q2 2024

The London Stock Exchange announced it will start accepting applications for Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded notes in the second quarter of 2024. The UK's Financial Conduct Authority said it would not object to requests from recognized investment exchanges to list ETNs. ETNs are debt securities that provide exposure to an underlying asset like cryptocurrencies, allowing professional investors to gain access to the crypto market. Unlike ETFs representing direct ownership, ETNs are issued as notes and traded more like bonds.
