𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲: Do multi-sector dynamics models and life cycle assessment models agree? Comparing GCAM’s with GREET’s fuel life cycle estimates

𝗔𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁:
Model-based analysis of fuel pathways is crucial for shaping energy and environmental policy. Dr. Wolfram will introduce LC-GCAM, a new tool that integrates multi-sector dynamics models (like GCAM) with life cycle assessment models (like GREET), enabling consistent, flexible, and efficient estimation of greenhouse gas emissions and energy use. He will present insights from 300 scenarios for the U.S. freight sector and compare LC-GCAM results with GREET, highlighting where the models align and where challenges remain.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿:
Dr. Wolfram’s research centers on the environmental trade-offs of decarbonization. With a Ph.D. in Industrial Ecology from Yale and prior roles at the International Council on Clean Transportation and Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, his work has been featured in the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, The New York Times, and German national media.
