Mom Charged with Poisoning Family at Thanksgiving 🍽️

A North Carolina restaurateur, Gudrun Casper-Leinenkugel, is accused of poisoning her daughter to death during a Thanksgiving dinner and attempting to kill her other daughter and her boyfriend with a toxic chemical. Investigators say the victims drank wine laced with acetonitrile, and prosecutors allege Gudrun researched the chemical’s effects before the meal. As detectives dug deeper, they also charged her with a separate first-degree murder tied to a 2007 house fire, reopening a nearly 20-year-old cold case. Law&Crime’s Chris Stewart is On the Case.
