Tragic Accident: Justin Owen's Fatal Crash at Lawrenceburg Speedway 2023 🏁

Justin Owen was the 2022 Lawrenceburg Speedway sprint car track champion. He had won 2 races in 2022 including the Dick Gaines Memorial race at Lawrenceburg. This was his third attempt at entering a USAC sprint car race; the other starts were in 2019 and 2021.<br /><br />Saturday night 08 April 2023 Justin Owen was making a qualification lap at Lawrenceburg Speedway when his car bicycled entering turn 3 and struck the outer wall. It then flipped several times and landed in the middle of the track in turns 3 and 4. He was removed from the car and transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, Justin Owen passed away from his injuries.<br /><br />He was survived by his parents, Marita(Mike) Cable and Scott(Niki) Owen along with his sister Alyssa(Eric) Stone, brother Josh Creech, and step-sister, Ryleigh Dennis.<br /><br />R.I.P
