These videos are honestly our favorites... good conversations with good people all in hopes that it encourages someone out there... We know some questions get juicy lol but it's nice to share questions and thoughts that we all have with people we trust. Y'all ready for some encouragement?!?
This one is interesting... I had a really good conversation with a buddy of mine in Tennessee and we got on the subject of "how much is too much?" regarding our pursuit of "things". I stumbled trying to find the right answer, I was genuinely searching and checking my heart...I started talking about the prosperity gospel and expecting God to do things for us and then I switched to the poverty gospel and denying any earthly blessing from God. I was struggling. Is it this much money? Is it that big of a house? Is it this size company? What is the moment when our pursuit of things go from blessings to burdens? And then it hit me. It has to do with our heart posture... For who is this "thing" for? For our kingdom, or God's? Am I pursuing this thing because I feel like I am lacking, or am I pursuing it freely? How would I feel if I never got this "thing" (whatever it is you want)? Would I be devastated? Or a bit let down, but move on in life because my contentment is found in Christ. So as you move forward in pursuit of things in this world, whether it be relationships, financial security, career accolades, and the million other things we want, I encourage you to pause and think to yourself... Who am I doing this for? God? Or myself? And do I feel less than which is why I'm going after this thing? Or am I pursuing it as a complete person already?
These are just a few things but I think it's a great way to check on ourselves instead of blindly pursuing things without knowing why we are.
