John O'Neil: FBI Agent & 9/11 Hero

John O'Neil was an FBI agent when the World Trade Center was first attacked in 1993. He became the head of the counter-terrorism section and recognized the threat international terrorism posed to the United States. In August of 2001 he was forced to retire from the FBI and would begin his next job on the 23rd of that month. As the new head of security at the World Trade Center in New York City, O'Neil was last seen on the morning of September 11th, 2001 running into the south tower to help with evacuations.
