In the darkness it’s clear as day- <br />A silver silhouette: <br />A body lying motionless <br />In a pool of deep regret. <br /> <br />The shadow of what once had been; <br />Of a rose with twisted thorns… <br />A fallen angel stranded here <br />She’s Innocent no more. <br /> <br />On this night, she hid alone <br />And whispered a quiet goodbye. <br />She hung her head in the silence <br />Tears brimming her eyes- but did not cry. <br /> <br />She took each knife with bitter pride- <br />And never said a word. <br />To even reconsider now <br />Would surely be absurd. <br /> <br />In the darkness it’s clear as day- <br />A silver silhouette. <br />The shadow of what once had been <br />And of a fate… <br />Never met.<br /><br />Jessy Liz<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-complexities-of-simplicity/
