Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa was born on August 1, 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is an American actor, model, director, writer, and producer. He is known for his television roles as Ronon Dex on the military science fiction television series Stargate Atlantis (2004–2009) and as Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–2012).
He appeared in the 2016 superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Aquaman, later reprising the role in Justice League (2017) and his own standalone film following in 2018,all of which are a part of the DC Extended Universe.
