Don Paolo, a young priest, returns to his native village in Sardinia, an archaic land torn apart by a bloody feud between two rival families. As he tries to impose peace and the word of God, Paolo must confront his own demons: his unresolved love for Agnese, a local woman now entangled with one of the families. His internal torment between his priestly vow and his forbidden passion intertwines with the violence of a land where the law of vengeance seems stronger than the law of God.
